Nobody in their right mind would put their money in a bank they knew was never audited.
How is it that We The People entrust so much of our welfare to a government that has never been audited or even independently overseen?*
*This rhetorical question was framed well before Elon Musk and his Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) team began their audit of the Federal government and exposed all manner of waste, fraud, and abuse. So, one may ask: Isn’t this good enough? And the answer is: Of course not. For one thing DOGE has a limited future and is scheduled to wrap up by July 4, 2026, and for another thing, even if there is ever a DOGE 2.0, it is a Trump thing and not officially part of the government regardless of who is President. Furthermore, as you will see when you read further, the proposed Constitutional Council has a lot more functions than just being a super Inspector General.
